Thank you for your interest in the history of St. Bonifacius. We hope you find this webiste interesting and helpful. We have a rich history in St. Bonifacius, starting with The Big Woods before the earliest settlers arrived.
Founded in 2001, the St. Bonifacius Area Historical Society has thousands of old photos, documents, letters, newspaper articles, old diaries, maps and church records.
St. Bonifacius has a rich heritage. Our early settlers were the first white men west of Lake Minnetonka before Minnesota became a territory. Even if you do not have ancestors from this area, you will find it interesting how our town developed.
We welcome you to join our organization. There is no end to learning about our past!
We do not have regular hours. Our office is in the basement of the St. Bonifacius Library. You can arrange by appointment to meet with one of our active members at the library. Please contact us at StBoniHistory@gmail.com or you can contact city hall (952-446-1061) for the phone number of a member to assist in your research.
Do you have history to share? We welcome your old photos, stories, documents, old letters, or anything historical. Your descendants might appreciate this in the far future.
We meet quarterly on the 3rd Saturday of the month in the City Council Chambers (February, May, August and November).
